Titleimage: Veterinary Public Health Institute

Veterinary Public Health (VPH), a relatively new discipline within veterinary medicine, in recent years substantially gained in importance in the context of the detection, control and prevention of animal diseases and animal welfare-related events. Diseases transmitted directly or through products of animal origin (food) to humans (zoonoses) are an additional area of VPH relevance - with almost 70 % of all newly emerging human diseases originating from animals. Within the VPH Institute selected topics will be addressed within own research projects, research support (consulting) and teaching.

Since 2011, the division of Animal Welfare is a separate part of the VPHI.

Unfortunately, given the circumstances, and after having considered all possible options, we have decided to cancel this year’s edition of the course. Those of you who had already registered will not have to pay the course fees. Moreover, you would have priority in case you would decide to register to next year’s edition of the course.

If some of you are doctoral students needing ECTS credits which you planned to obtain through this course, please let us know that (francesco.galli@vetsuisse.unibe.ch) and we will see if we can help finding an alternative.
