Staff involved: Luís Pedro Carmo, Ioannis Magouras, Gertraud Schüpbach
Duration: January 2014 – June 2017
The consumption of meat is a potential pathway for the transmission of antimicrobial resistant hazards from animals to humans. Due to the high number of combinations of animal species/bacteria/antimicrobial classes it is critical to define the combinations that represent the highest risk for public health. A risk assessment methodology was used to create a risk ranking for the combinations of animal species/bacteria/antimicrobial classes that represent a greater threat to public health.
