One Health Analysis of Antimicrobial Use and Resistance

Association between antimicrobial consumption and resistance in animals and in humans, a one-health approach

The objective of this project is to establish an analysis of the Swiss monitoring data (on antimicrobial consumption and resistance) for livestock and humans. Regression analysis were established in order to assess the relationship between the use of antimicrobials in livestock and the corresponding resistance; use of antimicrobials in human medicine and resistance in humans; and the consumption of antimicrobials in livestock and resistance in human beings.
