Field trial to reduce sales of intramammary antimicrobials

A randomized field trial to reduce sales of intramammary antimicrobials in veterinary practices

Contact Person: Valerie Pucken

Duration: 2015 - 2019

Antimicrobial usage in dairy herds is mainly because of intramammary applications. The aim of this project will be to investigate an intervention at veterinary practice level to decrease the sales of intramammary antimicrobials to dairy herds in a pragmatic randomized field trial. Veterinarians will be supported in transitioning from curative individual patient care to preventive herd health management.
